Dear Families,

This afternoon, Edgewood School entered a brief partial lockdown to address a student conflict and a related disciplinary issue.

Our staff responded immediately, and the situation was quickly resolved. At no point was there a threat to the broader school community. The lockdown has been lifted, and we have returned to our normal schedule.

The safety of our students remains our top priority. Thank you for your support.

Good afternoon families,

To ensure the safety and focus of our students, a first grade class briefly transitioned to another space today while we supported a student experiencing a difficult moment. I am proud of how quickly and calmly the children followed directions, and we returned to our normal routine shortly after. Please feel free to reach out if your child has any questions about the 'change of scenery' today.

Edgewood School Math and Literacy Night Poster 2 (1)
To all Parents/Guardians of students in 5-8th grade Good Afternoon, please be reminded the district mandate states that students are to put their cellphones in a Yondr bag during school hours. There are a few students who may have taken those bags home accidentally and we are asking that they return them tomorrow. There is a $30 lost bag fee. We will be in contact with parents of students with missing bags tomorrow afternoon. Please encourage your child to put their cellphones in these bags. They are allowed to keep the bags with them during the school day. If you have any questions please contact the school.

Dear Families and Staff,

The safety of our students and staff is our highest priority. Today it came to our attention that a small group of students had created a note that implied a threat to other students who were named in the document. After a thorough investigation, there was no explicit threat made, and it was clear there was no credible intention to harm the students whose names were listed. We followed all NHPS protocols in our response. We contacted the police, who responded to the school. We informed the parents of all students involved. We are continuing to investigate and to assign appropriate consequences to those responsible. All students and staff are safe.

Edgewood Families-

As the temperatures drop, we want to ensure our students stay comfortable and focused on learning. Our classrooms and hallways can feel quite chilly this time of year. Please ensure your child comes to school with layers, such as a sweater, fleece, or sweatshirt, to wear during the day.

Warmly,

Edgewood Staff
