This Thanksgiving, we are once again partnering with Women of the Village Food Pantry on Dixwell Ave. To support their ever-growing efforts to provide nourishing food assistance to New Haven families. The food drive will run from Nov 19-Nov 22nd and we are collecting non-perishables, fresh veggies and turkeys (Saturday only), along with monetary contributions. Drop-off options: Wed, 11/19: Inside Edgewood Lobby during Parent Teacher Conferences/Report Card Day, Thurs 11/20-Fri 11/21: On Edgewood Blacktop During Drop-Off and Pickup Sat, 11/22**: 10am-12pm on the Blacktop
**perishable items Saturday only! Please note: if you are an Edgewood family seeking support this holiday season in the form of food and/or monetary assistance please fill out this form. All contents of the forms will be kept confidential by our small team of parent volunteers and we will reach out directly to you to coordinate. Families have until Wednesday at midnight to place their order(s) for todays photo shoot. Otherwise, students will be given proofs (in 3 weeks), and will be able to place any additional orders. As a reminder, Photo Order forms that were sent home last week have a QR code. Please type in child's name as it appears in Power school (i.e., "under what name did I register my child").
If your child is paying cash today, please send exact change. Thank you!

A child brought an orange toy gun to school this morning. In accordance with our policy, it was confiscated. Please remember that students are not allowed to bring toys to school. For obvious reasons, this is particularly true of any toy that resembles a weapon. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Families and students, please join the Edgewood PTO for the Literary Costume Ball on Thursday, October 23, from 6:00 - 7:30 pm! Come dressed as your favorite book character or author and join us for a free night of books, crafts, music, and snacks and pizza for the kids! We need some volunteers to bring refreshments and help with set-up, staffing craft tables, and clean-up. Please use this sign up form to help out. We're looking forward to a fun evening together! We are actively looking for volunteers for this year's scholastic book fair which occurs 10/9-10/17 and we have plenty of spots that are open for volunteers to work with our media library specialist who will be overseeing the process; most of these are 2 hours slots. If you have not volunteered with NHPS before you are welcome to go ahead and sign up and participate; those who have participated in volunteer activities in the past would need to be sure to be certified by the school system if you not done so already. The experience is fun (I did it last year) and you get to help our students get some wonderful books to take home with them. This is the Signup genius where you can sign up for two hours of blocks of times (or whatever works for you) to help our students. More details at the link below! Edgewood PTO
